From the wilds of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, it's another episode of The Daily Steve Podcast.
Today, Steve talks about one of the perils of working from a home office, chats about a bad trend in news reporting, gets sucked into Facebook, and talks about recording a podcast with Tim Robertson of MyMac.com.
Episode 14: Honey-do, garbage scrapers, Facebook time suck, and talkin' with Tim
Well, even though I recorded this yesterday (December 1, 2009), I didn't get around to posting it until today (December 2nd). Shame on me.
In this episode, I talk about being successful in NaNoWriMo 2009 (and my wife made it to 50,000 words, too!), chat a bit about going on jury duty and some past court experiences that I've had, and then discuss two pieces of hardware that are fun and useful.
Episode 13: You may already be a winner, courtroom drama, and cool stuff.
For the second year in a row, I'm a "winner" in NaNoWriMo. What that means is that I actually wrote my 50,000 words in 30 days or less.
Last year, I pretty much gave up on my writing as soon as the 50,000 word mark was passed, but I'm so tied up in the story this year that I've decided that I'm going to finish it. That means it'll probably end up being about 100,000 - 150,000 words long, because I think there's a lot of story left.
Once the book is absolutely finished, I'm going to let Barb read it, and then I'm going to go through it again and spruce it up, get rid of errors, etc… And who knows? Maybe I'll actually self-publish it.
Today we spent most of the day cruising around Epcot, primarily the World Showcase area. However, in the Future World area there are still a few things we like to do, like ride Soaring, Mission: Space, and of course, visit the fish over at "The Seas". The aquariums here are huge; a lot of visitors end up taking the time to scuba dive in the gigantic tanks. But there are also a number of small tanks around that have some of the smaller fish. That's what I captured on my iPhone today and editing (also on the iPhone) for you.
I'm the owner of Raven Solutions, LLC (a Mac consultancy), App2Market (an iPhone application marketing firm), and Podbus.com (podcast hosting). In my vast amounts of remaining spare time, I'm one of the co-lead bloggers at The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW.com).
This blog is going to be a mixture of tech podcasts (I can't write about tech due to contractual obligations at TUAW) and personal diatribes. You may not like what I have to say, in which case you are free to move along.
