About
I’ve been blogging for years. If you include the good old days when I used to do all of my coding by hand, I’ve been doing this since 1994. Using “official” blogging tools, I’ve been blogging since 2001. My professional blogging career started in April, 2008 when I became a writer for The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW.com), one of the world’s top Apple-oriented tech sites. Since that time, I’ve written (as of December of 2011) over 1.1 million words on that blog.
I’ve also written a series of little personal blogs over the year. I did one when I was doing a ton of bike riding in the early 2000′s, then another that focused solely on geocaching. The Daily Steve was started a few years back and for a while was simply a reflection of my tweets. Over the past few years I’ve added food shots (I love cooking), and some photos here and there. What I want to do is just make this a reflection of my life out of tech, so that’s my goal for 2012.
The Daily Steve is just going to be a daily journal of what I like or dislike about just about everything. Do you think I’ll be spewing my personal opinions? That’s for damned sure.
The funny thing is that I used to be a raving liberal. For some reason or other, that’s changed as I’ve grown older (I’m 54), although the far right scares the hell out of me as much as the far left. I guess I could put myself into the neo-conservative or libertarian slot, although the libertarians are a bit too weird for me. You’ll find me dumping my personal opinions on politics here quite often.
If you don’t like what you read here, don’t read it. If you enjoy what I write, please feel free to comment. And whatever you do, be sure to tell your friends about this site. Welcome to my brain.
