Ahhh, our first try of the Midwestern US staple fast food, the Maid-Rite. It’s not a hamburger; nor is it a sloppy joe. Think of a sloppy joe without the tomato sauce, and you’ve got it. It’s a “loose beef” sandwich.

The chain started in 1926 in Muscatine, Iowa, a small city on the Mississippi River. This is their first Colorado location, and I believe it’s also the westernmost in the USA.

How was it? Pretty darned tasty. We both had the Bacon Cheese Rite, which is the standard Maid Rite enhanced with bacon and cheese (Duh!). The fries were thin, hot, and crisp. Noms…
